Assling

Assling is a municipality with 1853 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Lienz ( East Tyrol ) of the federal state of Tyrol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Lienz.

Geography

The municipality is located Assling in East Tyrol part of the Pusteria Valley between the towns Leisach and Anras. The municipal area extends to both sides of the valley both of Val Pusteria, but inhabited only the northern part of the Val Pusteria high road and the narrow part of the valley of the Drava.

Coat of arms

2012 lived 1,881 people in the community Aßling. In terms of population Aßling was at this time the seventh largest municipality of the 33 municipalities in the district of Lienz. According to the 2001 census, 97.4 % of the population were Austrian citizens (Tirol: 90.6 % ) until the beginning of 2012, the value rose only slightly to 97.9 %. Of the 39 foreigners came 90 % from Europe and 79 % from EU countries. Of the population in 2012, only 3.1% were foreign-born, with 81 % of non- citizens born in Austria came from the EU Member States.
