Athanasios " Thanos " Petsos (Greek Αθανάσιος " Θάνος " Πέτσος, born June 5, 1991, Dusseldorf ) is a Greek football player.

Career

Club career

Petsos moved from Düsseldorf 2001 SC 99 in the youth of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. On 5 March 2010 it was first used in the West Regional in the second team of Bayer Leverkusen. Seven weeks later he appeared as a substitute in the Bundesliga match against Hannover 96 and so came to his pro debut. On 27 June 2010 he lost with Bayer Leverkusen U- 19, the final of the German A- Junior Championship against Hansa Rostock 0:1.

For the 2010/11 season Petsos was awarded to the 1st FC Kaiserslautern without option to buy. Although actually taken at right-back, he played at FCK almost exclusively in the defensive midfield. In April 2011 both clubs agreed on an extension of the loan for another year. In Leverkusen Petsos stood until 2014 under contract.

For the 2012/13 season Petsos moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He signed for Bundesliga promoted a three-year contract until 30 June 2015.

For the 2013/14 season Petsos joined the Austrian Bundesliga SK Rapid Vienna, where he signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2016.

National

After he had already run seven times for the U -19 from Greece, he denied on March 28, 2011 in a friendly match against Belgium 's first game for the Greek U- 21st For the test match against Bosnia- Herzegovina on 10 August 2011 Thanos Petsos was appointed for the first time in the senior national squad. In the goalless draw he came on in the 83rd minute for Konstantinos Katsouranis.
