History

The abbeys Saint Arnulf and Saint -Martin de la Glandière in Longeville- lès -Saint -Avold had land in Bermering. The village was divided between the castellany of Haboudange and Bailliage of Morhange. From 1751 it belonged partly to Bailliage Dieuze.

1793 Bermering received the status of a municipality and in 1801 the right to local self-government in the wake of the French Revolution. It belonged from 1801 to 1871 to the former department of Meurthe, which was renamed in 1871 in Meurthe -et -Moselle. 1871, the community was incorporated into the newly created National Rural Alsace-Lorraine by the German Empire due to territorial changes through the course of the German - French War ( 1870-1871 ). The National Rural Alsace-Lorraine existed until the end of World War I (1914-1918) and was subsequently dissolved. Bermering was at that time in the department of Moselle, this change was also maintained in 1918, when France was awarded Moselle again.

Coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms is reminiscent of the two abbeys that owned lands in Bermering. It is blue with a golden eagle, which stands for the Abbey of Saint Arnulf. The eagle's wings are spread. To the eagle is a red Chape (two triangles like a mantle surrounding a tip) on which there are two silver acorns that are available for the Abbey of Saint -Martin de la Glandière. England is the French word for " acorn ".
