Honskirch
Honskirch ( German Hunkirch, 1941-44 Hunkirchen ) is a commune with 223 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Château- Salins and Canton Albestroff.
Geography
Honskirch located eight kilometers east of Albestroff on the border of Alsace at an altitude 213-252 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.55 km ².
The village lies in a valley that is surrounded by Tautzwinkelberg the west by Hunnertberg, to the south by Remmelsberg and to the east, at the opening to the north lies the miller forest.
History
The official French name until 1870 was Hunkirich. After the First World War, the name Honskirch was created.
