Bernareggio

Bernareggio is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,672 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The community is located about 12 kilometers northeast of Monza, about 26 km northeast of Milan and about 21 km west- southwest of Bergamo. Bernareggio is immediately adjacent to the province of Lecco.

History

In antiquity, a Roman road led through the village area, so that a settlement appears unlikely. The origins of the church today date back to the 10th century.

Bernareggio has partnerships with the North Rhine-Westphalian municipality Wachtberg ( Germany ) and with the French community Canton La Villedieu -du- Clain in the department of Vienne.
