Bob Windle

Robert " Bob" Windle ( born November 7, 1944 in Sydney ) is a former Australian swimmer.

Remarkable about him was that he was successful on both the short as well as over the long freestyle stick. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he started all freestyle distances from 100 m to 1500 m and 1500 m freestyle was even Olympic champions. He also won the bronze medal with the Australian 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. Four years later he won at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico again bronze in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay and silver medal in the 4 × 200 meters.

In 1990 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
