Career

Bobby Raymond began his career in 2001 and played for the Burlington Cougars in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. After two years he moved to the 2003/04 season with the Owen Sound Greys in the Midwest Junior Hockey League. There, Raymond retired with his team in the quarter-finals of the playoffs. In the next season the team came in the final series, but it has been lost. Raymond was subsequently voted the best defender in the league. In 2005, he began a study of Industrial Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology and played for the local hockey team. The season 2006/ 07 ended his team as a point Best of the Atlantic Hockey Conference and Raymond was elected to the AHA All- Academic Team. After successfully completing his studies, he signed in May 2009 a contract with the French club Etoile Noire de Strasbourg Ligue Magnus. For the 2010/11 season he returned to North America and the Florida Everblades joined from the ECHL. A tryout contract in October 2010 at the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League was not renewed, so that Raymond in the season remained with the Everblades. In April 2011, he won the Calder Cup as he also completed nine playoff games for the Binghamton Senators in the AHL. This also took him for the 2011/12 season under contract. In September 2011 he took part in the National Hockey League in the training camp of the Ottawa Senators. Raymond spent the season in both the AHL, as well as in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades. There he was part of the team that won the Kelly Cup. He extended his contract with the Everblades in August 2012 for one year and also played first in Florida. After a tryout with the Charlotte Checkers, he finally moved in December 2012 on loan to the AHL and signed in January 2013 for the remainder of the season.

For the 2013/14 season Raymond joined the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Hockey League. He signed a year contract.
