Michael Brennan (ice hockey)

Michael Brennan ( born January 24, 1986 in Smithtown, Long Iceland, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Iserlohn Roosters in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.

Career

Mike Brennan began his career in 2002 and played until 2004 for the U.S. National Team Development Program in the North American Hockey League. In the season 2004/ 05 he began studying at Boston College and played for the local hockey team. In his first year he won with his team the Hockey East Championship and was elected to the All- Academic Team. Next year, the team reached the final for the championship of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, where they lost to the University of Wisconsin -Madison in the Frozen Four tournament. In the season 2006/ 07 they stood as a master of Hockey East again in the final and lost time against the Michigan State University. In the third final appearance in a row the team in 2007/ 08, the U.S. college championship was finally able to win against the University of Notre Dame. Previously, Brennan won with the Boston College again Hockey East Championship and was selected team for the third time in the All- Academic.

In April 2008, Brennan signed his first professional contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. This sent him to the farm team Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. There he played the seasons 2008/ 09 and 2009/ 10 and established himself as a defensive orienter defender in the AHL. In September 2010, Brennan took part in the training camp of the Toronto Maple Leafs and played the season in their farm team Toronto Marlies. For the 2011/12 season he signed with the Colorado Avalanche, who sent him to the AHL with the Lake Erie Monsters. The next year he moved to the ECHL to the Florida Everblades. After nine games, he returned to the AHL and played the rest of the season for the Worcester Sharks.

For the 2013/14 season signed a contract with Brennan the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
