Bürserberg

Bürserberg is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in Vorarlberg, Austria with 524 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

Geography

The mountain village of Bürserberg lies in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, the district of Bludenz to 871 meters. It is located at the entrance of the Brandner valley - away around 5 km from Bludenz and is structured in several terraces, hillside community.

A total of 57.0 % of the total area is forested and 18.5 % of the area alpine or mountain pastures. There are no other local villages in Bürserberg.

It is known to Schesatobel, one of the largest Murbrüche Europe.

History

In 1347, the award of the Tales " Vallavier " to 12 Walser family was. Presumably Walser have settled in the upper part of Bürserberg the same time.

In 1730, the dedication of the parish church of St. took place. Joseph. From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. From 1830 a first road was built under Alois Negrelli. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Bürserberg heard since the founding of the Vorarlberg Landtag 1861.

The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in the restored after the Second World War, the Republic of Austria.

The proportion of foreigners at the end of 2002 was 9.3 percent.

Coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms was created in 1969 after a design by the artist and Schrunser heraldist Konrad Honold.

Policy

The municipal council consists of twelve members. The choice was not made by lists, but by a majority vote. Mayor is currently Fridolin Plaickner.

The municipality revenue from taxes and other charges in 2001 were at € 668,364, the municipal expenditure at € 1,466,009. The debt was 2001 2.448.603 €.

Culture and sights

Economy and infrastructure

At the site there were in 2003 11 companies in the industrial sector with 144 employees and three apprentices. Taxable wage -employed, there were 265 tourism and tourism play an important role in the community. In the tourism year 2001/2002 the community numbered a total of 68 456 nights. Since the 1960s, the district of " Tschengla " is tapped by several ski lifts.

Education

In Bürserberg there is a kindergarten, and (as of January 2003) 26 students.

Others

In the district Tschengla are the stone circles at Bürserberg. They are supposedly " neolithic ", but were probably erected only a few years there.
