Canada at the 1924 Winter Olympics

  • 4.1 Gold Medals
  • 4.2 Silver Medals
  • 4.3 bronze medals

Balance

The Olympic team was basically out of the ice hockey team together, which was amplified by a speed skater and two figure skaters. The team captained by Duncan Munro consisted largely of players from the Toronto Granites. Only Harold McMunn (Winnipeg Falcons ) and Cyril Slater ( Montreal Victorias ) reinforced the team in Chamomix superior to the title of 1920 defended here and became the second -time Olympic champion. None of the players from 1920 - Canada was then represented by the Winnipeg Falcons - was also represented in Chamonix. Since the Olympic tournament was considered a second world championship at the same time, Canadians were thus automatically World Champion. In addition to the success of hockey players the performances of figure skaters Cecil Eustace Smith and Melville Rogers and the Eisschnellläufers Charles Gorman look very pale and are often forgotten.
