Charlotte Park is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Charlotte County in the U.S. state of Florida with 2,325 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Charlotte Park is located just south of downtown Punta Gorda and is affected by the Tamiami Trail ( U.S. 41 ). The CDP is located about 150 km south of Tampa.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 2,325 inhabitants distributed to 1,730 households. The population density was 750 inh. / Km ². 96.0 % of the population were white, 1.2% African American, 0.6 % Native American and 0.7 % Asian Americans. 0.5 % were members of other ethnic groups and 0.9 % of various ethnicities. 4.6% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 63.7 % of all households lived in 10.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years. 67.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.98 persons and the average family size is 2.32 people.

9.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 9.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 19.7% were 40-59 years old and 61.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 65 years. 49.4 % of the population were male and 50.6 % female.

The average annual income was $ 32,031, while 5.5 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.80 % of the population spoke Spanish and 5.20%.
