Grove City is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Charlotte County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,804 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Grove City is located approximately 35 km west of Punta Gorda and about 140 km south of Tampa on the Lemon Bay, which is a lagoon on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,804 inhabitants distributed to 1,495 households. The population density was 546.7 inh. / Km ². 97.8 % of the population were white, 0.2% Native American and 0.3 % Asian Americans. 0.8 % were members of other ethnic groups and 0.9 % of various ethnicities. 1.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 50.4 % of all households lived in 12.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years. 56.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.90 persons and the average family size is 2.36 people.

11.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 9.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.1% were 40-59 years old and 48.9 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 59 years. 51.3 % of the population were male and 48.7 % female.

The average annual income was $ 37,487, while 14.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.
