Harbour Heights is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Charlotte County in the U.S. state of Florida with 2,987 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Harbour Heights is located on the north bank of the Peace River and 9 km north of Punta Gorda. Tampa is located about 150 km north of the CDP, on the Interstate 75 passes.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 2,987 inhabitants distributed to 1,598 households. The population density was 524 inh. / Km ². 90.1 % of the population were white, 5.8% African American, 0.2% Native American and 1.1% Asian Americans. 1.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.6% in different ethnic groups. 5.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 45.8 % of all households lived in 21.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 69.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.27 persons and the average family size is 2.64 people.

18.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 15.8% were 20-39 years old, 27.3 % were 40-59 years old and 38.5 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 52 years. 47.8 % of the population were male and 52.2 % female.

The average annual income was $ 45,574, while 8.0 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.04 % of the population spoke Spanish 1.85% and 1.11 % spoke German.
