The national road 318 ( 318国 道Chinese, Pinyin 318 Guódào, English China National Highway 318), Chinese Abbr G318, is a Chinese highway.
Road
The G318 leads approximately to the height of 30 north latitude from Shanghai to Wuhan, Chengdu and Lhasa to the bridge of the Sino- Nepalese friendship near Kodari on the Nepalese border. From there exists by the Araniko Highway catching a connection to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The westernmost part of the national road ( from Lhasa to Nepal border ) also forms the Friendship Highway.
The National Road 318 with a total length of 5476 km before the G312, the longest street in China and one of the world's longest continuously -numbered streets within a state. The Australian Highway 1 ( approximately 14,500 km) and the Trans-Canada Highway ( 8030 km ), however, are much longer.
Only the eastern part runs on flat terrain, then partly extreme height differences to overcome. On their way the G318 passes very close to the Siduhe Bridge, the world 's tallest bridge with 472 meters. Even otherwise, many engineering structures are built.
