Christian Bronsard

Christian Bronsard ( born December 25, 1977 in Lahr ) is a retired German - Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who spent eleven seasons in various professional leagues in North America and Europe.

Career

Bronsard began his career in 1995 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Hull Olympiques, for which he was on the ice two years. In the 1996/97 season he was with his team in both the Coupe du Président and later the Memorial Cup win. Bronsard received numerous awards, including the Guy Lafleur Trophy as most valuable player of the playoffs for his achievements. In the 1997/98 season he played internationally for Team Canada and won the Spengler Cup. He then moved into the International Hockey League with the Manitoba Moose. Over the next two seasons, he went for the Syracuse Crunch and Quebec citadels in the American Hockey League and the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks in the ECHL on the ice.

In the 2001 /02 season he stood between the posts of the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga after he was initially accrued for the Baton Rouge Kingfish. From 2002 he was active in the Russian Super League for the HK Sibir Novosibirsk by the end of 2003. He joined in early 2004 after internal problems in the British Elite Ice Hockey League at the Sheffield Steelers, with whom he won both the main round and the play-offs. From 2004 to 2006 he returned to Germany and played for EHC Freiburg in the Bundesliga 2. He then moved to France to HC Briancon, where he rose to 2008 in the squad. Then Bronsard ended his career.

Bronsard was born to Canadian parents in Germany, with whom he already re- moved at a young age back to Canada. He is married and has a child who was born in Freiburg im Breisgau on 16 January 2005.

On 30 October 1999, Christian Bronsard could properly register as a scorer in the AHL game. A bad pass of the enemy found his way into the empty net and Bronsard was the last player of his team who had touched the puck.
