Christian Günter

Christian Günter (born 28 February 1993 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a German footballer who is currently under contract with the Bundesliga side SC Freiburg. Its common position is the left side of defense.

Career

Youth

Christian Günter comes from Tennenbronn, a village near his birth town of Villingen -Schwenningen. The age of four he discovered about his family 's interest to football and began his career as a youth player at FV Tennenbronn. At age 13, he was first invited from SC Freiburg on trial. In the following years he commuted between his home in Tennenbronn and his new sporting home in Freiburg. In summer 2012, he won the DFB Cup as captain of the U-19 team of SC Freiburg.

Beginnings in professional football

For the season 2012/13 he was accepted into the professional squad of the club. After the return of Michael Lumb to Zenit St. Petersburg, the new replacement for the links defender Oliver Sorg he was thus at the sports club. Günter was on 17 November 2012 for the first time in the squad of the professional team. His debut for the first team, he finally gave up a few weeks later on December 8 in a 1-0 victory over SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He came on in the 77th minute for the game Vegar Eggen Hedenstad. His second play, again by a Substitutes he had in the DFB Cup on 18 December against Karlsruher SC. Overall, he came in his first season at eight competitive games.

In the 2013/14 season, in which the sports club as Europe went League starter, Günter came for the first time in the DFB Cup against TSG Neustrelitz used. In the following weeks he was employed by coach Christian Streich common as with Vegar Eggen Hedenstad and scale Mujdža temporarily failed two full-backs. In the first round alone, so he came to 23 games for the first team. On September 19, 2013 he gave his debut against Slovan Liberec in international competition, from the team, however, was eliminated in the group stage.

In March 2014 he extended his contract in Freiburg prematurely. The exact duration was not reported.

National

Christian Günter celebrated on October 12, 2013 at the Four Nations Tournament in Gemert his debut for a selection of the DFB. He came in a 4-0 victory against the Dutch hosts from the outset to use, and was later replaced by the Stuttgart Leibold.
