Christian Montanari
Christian Montanari ( born June 21, 1981 in San Marino ) is a sanmarinesischer car racer. He joined from 2004 to 2006 in the Formula Renault 3.5 ( formerly Formula Renault V6 Eurocup ) to. In 2007 and 2008 he was active in the FIA GT Championship. From 2009 to 2011, he competed in the Superstars Series.
Career
Montanari began his motorsport career in 1997 in karting, where he was active until 2001. In 2001, he debuted in Formula racing and participated in the Winter series of Italian Formula Renault. The following season he will start in the main series of the Italian Formula Renault and was sixth overall. In addition, he participated in five of the nine races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Euro Cups in part, finishing in 20th place in the drivers' standings. Montanari 2005 remained in the race series, which was, together with the World Series by Nissan to Formula Renault 3.5. He started with Winkelhock for Draco Multi Racing USA. While Winkelhock with three wins was third overall, Montanari finished the season with a win in Monte Carlo in eighth place in the championship. 2006 formed Montanari along with Gregory Franchi, driving a Prema Powerteam of teams in Formula Renault 3.5. 2007 left Montanari formula racing and moved to the GT racing. For the Vitaphone Racing Team went in the FIA GT Championship at the start. He won a race and was together with his teammate Miguel Ramos fourth in the GT1 championship. 2008 Montanari started to AF Corse and finished fourth in the GT2 standings of the FIA GT Championship. In addition, he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. His team did not reach the target. In addition, Montanari returned meantime back into formula racing for the Italian team and took part in a rookie training of A1GP. Montanari 2009 was without a solid racing cockpit. He also appeared in two races of the International Superstars Series, scoring a second and a third place. 2010 Montanari went to several races of the Superstars Series at the start. A third place was his best result. He was 16th in the Italian and 20th in the world rating.
