A1 Team Italy

A1 Team Italy (English stylization: A1Team.Italy ) was the Italian national team in the A1GP series.

History

A1 Team Italy was founded by former Formula 1 driver Piercarlo Ghinzani, whose racing team Team Ghinzani in equipping even from the beginning to the team.

In the first season the team was mediocre. The first points it could retract with seventh place in the feature race in Estoril by Enrico Toccacelo. Overall, the team scored nine points finishes, including a second place in the sprint race in Dubai and a third place in the sprint race in Monterrey. It finished the season in 14th place with 46 points.

The following season, the team was able to record an increase. Highlight of the season was the victory in the feature race in Beijing by Enrico Toccacelo after this already in the sprint race was a third place to celebrate. In addition, he scored on the last race weekend at Brands Hatch two third places. The team finished the season in seventh place overall with 52 points.

In the third season, the team experienced a sharp decline. Only five points results, including three eighth places as the best result (two of them by Edoardo Piscopo, one by Toccacelo ), meant the end of the 18th overall position with twelve points.

The fourth season was slightly better for the team. The highlight was the first pole position ever Vitantonio Liuzzi through for the sprint race in Portimao represents, which was followed by a fourth place as the best result of the season. With six more points results the team finished the season on top of the 16 overall with 17 points.

A1 Team Italy has participated in all 39 race weekends of the A1GP series.

Driver

A1 Team Italy put on race weekends, a 14 different riders, seven of whom also took part in the race itself. In addition, the official test at Silverstone place Giuseppe dates in 2006 were Manuele Gatto, Davide Valsecchi and Gian Maria Gabbiani and the second official test of 2007 itself for use.
