A1 Team India

A1 Team India (English stylization: A1Team.India ) was the Indian national team in the A1GP series.

History

A1 Team India was founded by Atul Gupta, who was eventually replaced in the second season of Yohann Setna, in the third season of Ravi Chilukuri and in the fourth season of a consortium named A1 Team India Limited as Seat Holder; as team acted in the first season Akbar Ebrahim, in the second and third season, the British team motorsport arena and then the British team also Argo Racing.

In the first season, the team was one of the backbenchers, as the best result is an eleventh place by regular driver Armaan Ebrahim in the sprint race at Sepang to book. The team entered the last three race weekends due to internal squabbles no longer and ended the season in 23rd place without a point.

The following season it looked initially not look like an increase. After five race weekends devoid of points Armaan Ebrahim was replaced by former Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, who in the main race in Taupo seventh place was finally able to start bringing in the points for the team. Two further points standings with a ninth place in the feature race in Durban and a fourth place finish in the feature race at Brands Hatch. The team finished the season in 16th place overall with 13 points.

In the third season, the final breakthrough. After several points results the team with Karthikeyan was able to celebrate as a team driver in the feature race in Zhuhai his first victory. More podiums were made ​​initially, but in the main race at Brands Hatch was again a first place be achieved. The team finished the season at the tenth position overall with 61 points.

At the opening of the fourth season, the team was ruled out of the chassis - delivery problems. In the remaining race weekends, followed by five points finishes, including a second place as a highlight by Karthikeyan in the sprint race at Brands Hatch. The team finished the season in twelfth place overall on 19 points.

A1 Team India has taken part in 35 race weekends of the A1GP series.
