Čmelíny

Čmelíny ( German Stmelin ) is a municipality with 120 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers east of Nepomuk on the river Víska and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 465 ha

Geography

The place is located in 444 m above sea level. M. in the Valley of Víska. Neighboring towns are Liskov in the north, and Víska Kladrubce in the east, Podhůří in the south, Mohelnice in the southeast, Tojice in the west and Vrčeň in the northwest.

History

The first written evidence of the existence of the place Čmelíny found in the Aufrichtungsbüchern ( erection libri ) of 1384, in which Ervin de Stmelin was mentioned as a witness in the founding spiritual Gestifte few times.

The village belonged to the lands of the monastery Pomuk and after its destruction in 1420 to rule Grünberg, whose owners were the Schwanberger and from 1464 the Sternberger. In the division of the reign came in 1584 Čmelíny to Nepomuk share.

1817 took the village school to teach. After the abolition of patrimonial Čmelíny 1850 was a separate municipality. 1869 had 234 inhabitants of the village.

Between Čmelíny and Víska was the historic boundary between the Pilsener and Budweiser circle, later it was between the political districts Blatna and Pschestitz. Since the local government reform of 1960 both communities belonged to Okres Plzeň -jih and in the same year united the local fire departments. Both villages are located within 100 m of each other in 1961 merged to form the community Čmelíny.

On January 1, 1964, the incorporation of Čmelíny took place after Mohelnice. Since 1992 the town with his district Víska is self again.
