Côtes du Vivarais AOC

The vineyards of Côtes du Vivarais located in the southern part of the Rhône wine region on the orographic right side of the Rhone River opposite of lying across the river AOC Coteaux du Tricastin. Centrally located in the growing area of ​​the river Ardèche, with many touristic opportunities.

The former VDQS ( this status was awarded the area on August 8, 1962) was only on 23 September 1999 Appellation d' Origine ( AOC short ) classified. The vineyards currently cover approximately 650 hectares of vineyards spread across the 14 municipalities Orgnac -l'Aven, Saint -Montan, Saint- Remèze, Lagorce, Vinezac, grass, Larnas, Bidon, Labastide -de -Virac (all in the department of Ardèche ) and Barjac, Issirac, Saint- Privat-de- Champclos Montclus and Le Garn in the department of Gard. The communities Orgnac -l'Aven (famous for their Laugungshöhle in Karst ), Saint- Remèze and Saint -Montan appellation may add their name.
