Daihatsu Taft

When Daihatsu Taft, for export also Daihatsu Wildcat called, or 1600 become known in some countries about foreign production as a Daihatsu or Daihatsu F-Series, is an SUV from the Japanese car maker Daihatsu.

History

The car was built from 1974 to 1984 and was the first vehicle of the brand Daihatsu, which was sold in Germany.

Were offered the variants F10 ( F10L with folding doors, F10LV with metal doors) with 45 hp petrol engine with 0.9 liter displacement, F20 ( F20L with folding doors, F20LV with metal doors) with 62 hp petrol engine with 1.6 liter displacement and F50 ( F50L canopy doors, F50LV with metal doors) with 68 hp naturally aspirated diesel engine with 2.5 liter displacement.

In true tradition of the rugged SUV features rigid axles and leaf springs were installed front and rear. The Taft has no differential lock.

From 1980 the model was also produced as the Toyota Blizzard. 1984 Taft was replaced by the Daihatsu Rocky. In some markets, this led to the name of Taft until 2007 continued into it.

In Austria, the Taft carried the model names Daihatsu pioneer.
