Dave Freudenthal

David Duane "Dave" Freudenthal ( born October 12, 1950 in Thermopolis, Wyoming ) is an American politician (Democratic Party). In 2002 he was elected Governor of the State of Wyoming, and re-elected on November 7, 2006. As a third term, according to the state constitution has not been possible, he retired in January 2011 from the Office.

Biography

Dave Freudenthal was born the seventh of eight children and grew up on a farm. After attending Amherst College in 1973, he graduated with a Bachelor in Economics. His career began as a business economist with the Department of Economic Planning and Development and later became director of his department under Governor Edgar Herschler.

Freudenthal attended the University of Wyoming College of Law and completed this in 1980 with the Law Degree. He began to work as a lawyer. In 1994 he was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming.

2002 Finally, Freudenthal successfully applied for the post of Governor of Wyoming. With 49.96 percent of the vote he won quite close to Republican Eli Bebout ( 47.92 percent). Four years later, he sat down with a share of 69.89 percent by significantly against Ray Hunkins ( 29.97 percent). In 2010, long speculated that Freudenthal would seek a constitutional amendment to allow a third term; ultimately this case, however, did not occur. On January 3, 2011, he handed over the governorship to the Republican Matt Mead.

Freudenthal is married to Nancy D. Freudenthal lawyer. Together they have four children ( Donald, Hillary, Bret and Katie ).
