Frank Emerson

Frank Collins Emerson ( born May 26, 1882 in Saginaw, Michigan, † February 18, 1931 ) was an American politician ( Republican), who was from 1927 to 1931 Governor of the State of Wyoming.

Career

Emerson graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Then he moved to Wyoming, where he held a number of senior engineer positions and from 1919 to 1927 worked as a State Engineer. Claiming that his replacement in 1923 by the later Governor William Ross was inadmissible, he moved in front of the State Supreme Court, which then actually put him back. Three years later, he ran for the office of Governor Nellie Tayloe Ross against, who was elected after the death of her husband to the Governor and conquered. During his tenure as Governor Emerson played an important role in the development of Wyoming's natural resources. He was re-elected for a second term, but died less than two months after he had entered this. He was then buried in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

He was married to Jean Zennia Reynders and the couple had three children together.
