David Květoň

David Květoň ( born January 3, 1988 in Nový Jičín, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who stands in October 2013 at HC Ocelari Třinec in the Czech Extraliga under contract.

Career

David Květoň began his career in his hometown at the Nový Jičín TJ, where he went through the youth ranks. In 2003, he ran parallel to the U18 and U20 youth team Vsetínská hokejová in the respective division. In addition, he made his debut during the 2003/04 season for the first team of the club in the Extraliga. The following season, he completed six extra league appearances for Vsetín, where he managed his first goal in the Extraliga, seven inserts for his hometown club in the 2nd league and came otherwise at the U20 Junior Vsetín used. For this he scored in 36 games 48 points scorer in the main draws and eleven points in eight playoff games.

The services shown helped him to get into the season 2005/ 06 a permanent place in the professional cadre of Vsetínská hokejová. In a total of 48 games Květoň, the only middle of the season was 18 years of age collected, twelve points scorer. Based on these achievements and his performance at the U18 World Junior Championships 2006, he was also of interest for franchises of the National Hockey League and was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 to 104 out of the New York Rangers. However, he remained a few months in Vsetín, before he moved to the Gatineau Olympiques de junior in the Ligue de hockey to North America majeur du Québec. The Olympiques he performed well, but was able to during the training camp of the Rangers in the summer of 2007 recommended for a contract and returned to the Czech Republic. There he was obliged by HC Ocelari Třinec, for which he has performed since then. In addition to Captain January Peterek he became a key player of the team. In the 2008 /09 season he scored in 51 games 49 points scorer, in the following season total of 37 points.

At the end of the 2010/11 season Květoň reached with his team the playoff final, in which the steel mate HC Vitkovice Steel defeated 4-1 victories and thus won their first championship in club history. This success contributed Květoň 19 points scorer in 18 playoff games with.

In July 2013 Květoň was committed by Kärpät Oulu of the SM - liiga, but returned in October of the same year Třinec back.

Internationally

David Květoň represented his native country so far in four World Championships, the U18 Junior World Championships in 2005 and 2006 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2007 and 2008. Doing so, he won the bronze medal at the 2006 U18 World Junior Championship.

Since 2008 he has regularly received nominations for the Czech National Team Mr. and completed it 16 matches, but was not yet mobilized for World Championships or other major events.
