Denis Pankratov

Denis Vladimirovich Pankratov (Russian Денис Владимирович Панкратов; born July 4, 1974 in Volgograd) is a Russian former swimmer.

In the Summer Olympics 1996, he was both 100 m and 200 m butterfly Olympic champion. He outclassed the competition already with its launch, by being exclusively footwork faster than the competition in all situation in the dive phase. He plunged far beyond todays valid botanical brand of 15 meters out.

In the years 1995 and 1996, he was selected in each case to the float of the year. In 2004, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
