Dniprorudne

Dniprorudne (Ukrainian Дніпрорудне; Russian Днепрорудное / Dneprorudnoje ) is a small city in the Zaporizhia Oblast in the south-central Ukraine with 19,100 inhabitants ( 2013). It is located about 54 kilometers south of Zaporizhia on the banks of angestautem to Kachowkaer reservoir Dnepr.

History

The town was founded in 1961 as a residential area ( urban-type settlement ) for the accommodation of the workers for the exploitation of iron ore deposits within Mala Biloserka and was called until 1964 Dniprohrad (Ukrainian Дніпроград ). 1967 saw the removal of the deposits, up to now about 4 million tonnes of iron ore per year per year are encouraged. 1970 received the Dniprorudne the status of a city.
