Infrastructure

In November 2005, the preparatory work for the longest bridge in Croatia ( 2,300 m) were started, which is to permit circumvention of the BiH territory. The bridge leads from the coast southeast of Ploce on the Neretva estuary channel ( Neretvanski channel ) to the peninsula of Peljesac. The construction of the bridge has been interrupted several times, most recently recorded in September 2011 with little budget again. If they are completed, could cross this bridge and the highway A1 Zagreb - Split - Dubrovnik run, but also a highway corridor through Neum on the mainland is alternatively possible.
