Encana

EnCana Corporation is a company from Canada, based in Calgary, Alberta. The company is listed on the stock index S & P / TSX 60 on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The company name (company) EnCana shall be composed of the initial letters of the words Energy, Canada and Alberta.

Business

EnCana was created in 2002 from the merger of PanCanadian Energy energy companies and Alberta Energy. The company produces and sells crude oil and natural gas.

On 30 November 2009 it was divided into the two acting independently EnCana and Cenovus. EnCana is now focused on natural gas production and Cenovus to the oil business.

EnCana operates mainly in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and in the Rocky Mountains and in the U.S. states of Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Michigan and Wyoming. Also for Greenland EnCana has a drilling permit. From Brazil, France and Qatar, the company has withdrawn.

The headquarters of EnCana should be laid in the year 2011 in the newly built high-rise building The Bow Building in Calgary. However, delayed the construction work and the first employees only attracted an end October 2012.

Criticism

On several gas pipelines of the company in British Columbia six attacks were carried out within nine months. Four of these attacks, the investigators assumed that they were committed by an angry member of the local population.
