Etaux

Etaux, also written Eteaux, is a village in Haute - Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Etaux located at about 640 m above sea level. M., west of La Roche- sur -Foron, about 20 km southeast of the city of Geneva (air line). The scattered settlement municipality extends increased on the eastern slopes of the plateau of Bornes, above the broad Arve Valley, at the northern foot of the Alps - Bornes.

History

Etaux is first mentioned in the 15th century.

Attractions

The village church of Etaux has a Gothic choir, while the nave dates from the 16th century. In Charny is a manor house.

Population

With 1737 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Etaux one of the smaller towns in the Haute-Savoie region. Since the early 1970s, a significant population growth was recorded thanks to the attractive residential area.

Economy and infrastructure
