Färnebofjärden National Park

The National Park Fjärnebofjärden located on the lower reaches of the Swedish Dalälven.

The lower reaches of the Dalalven leads through the plane of northern Uppland and southern Gastrikland, in contrast to the upper reaches only a small gradient. Therefore, the river spreads out and forms large, shallow lakes that are separated by rapids. The Fjärnebofjärden is one of those lakes, the countryside of Auland, river meadows and pristine forest is surrounded. Periodic floods, which cover large areas, characterize the nature of the national park. Of the approximately 10,100 acres that comprise the protection area, take a water area about 4,100 hectares. The land includes about 200 islands

The Fjärnebofjärden is also the " Limes norrlandicus " biological northern land border. Northern Moor area with coniferous forest exchanged with southern deciduous forest with trees such as oak and linden tree. Especially the bird world has a diversity of species than anywhere else in Sweden. Over 100 bird species regularly nest in the park.

The main entrances to the National Park lie south of Gysinge and Östa at Sevedskvarn. In Sevedskvarn there is also a handicapped accessible trail. In Skekarsbo there is a lookout tower.
