FC Kuban Krasnodar

The FK Kuban Krasnodar (Russian Футбольный клуб Кубань Краснодар, scientific transliteration: Futbol'nyj club Kuban ' Krasnodar ) is a Russian football club based in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar on the Kuban.

History

Soviet Union

The club was founded in 1928. The team played since the post-war period in at least semi-professional leagues, mostly in the second Soviet league - but the club was three seasons from 1980 to 1982 Soviet first division. After descending 1982 Kuban Krasnodar no longer managed first promotion to the top division, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, they played again top notch.

Russia

The team from the south of Russia was after the collapse of the Soviet Union, one of the founding members of the newly created Russian Supreme League. After the disappointing 1992 season, the team took verlaufenen in the relegation round the 18th place in the table and were relegated to the second class first division.
