FC Levadia Tallinn

The FC Levadia Tallinn is an Estonian football club. Originally from Maardu the club now plays in Tallinn.

History

1999 decided the Tallinna Sadam and the old first division side FC Levadia Maardu, who was formerly competed as Olympus Maardu and was renamed after the acquisition by the Ukrainian Viktor Levada in 1998 to merge. While the newly formed team took the name FC Levadia Maardu in the Meistriliiga, played the second team as FC Maardu in the second division.

In the first year Levadia scored the first league title, which was defended in 2000. In 2001, the second team managed to climb, this was named Levadia Tallinn, while the first team still ran as Levadia Maardu. In 2002, Viktor Levada even three teams in the Meistriliiga when FC Levadia Pärnu played first class for one season.

2002 the club scored the first Cup victory of the club's history. Ironically be Levadia Tallinn and Levadia Maardu stood against in the final, the match ended 2-0 in Tallinn. In the Supercup final in the same year, however, one had to be beaten on penalties Flora Tallinn.

The following year was again in the Cup final and a late goal by Vitali Leitan managed the runner-up a 1-0 win. However TVMK Tallinn was stronger in the final of the Super Cup and you could not win this item again.

2006 succeeded the fourth league title in club history. 30 wins and 114 goals scored meant at the end of 11 points ahead of runner-up JK Trans Narva. In the same year, the club managed to be the first Estonian club to qualify for the first round of the UEFA Cup, as Twente could be defeated with 1:1 in the Netherlands and a 1-0 home victory. There, however, Newcastle United proved too strong and both games could decide for themselves.
