FIFA Futsal World Cup
The Futsal World Cup is every four -yearly tournament where the best national teams in the Futsal play the World Champion title. Since 1989, the competition is organized by soccer 's world governing body FIFA.
Qualification
By 2004, participated in the finals, 16 teams participate. For the Futsal World Cup in Brazil in 2008 the number of participants was increased to 20 teams for the 2012 tournament in Thailand again to 24 teams. Participants will be selected from qualifying tournaments and the respective continental championships. The host is always automatically qualified.
Mode
The preliminary round is currently being played in six groups of four teams each. In the groups each once everyone plays against everyone. The top two teams from each group and the four best third reach the knockout stages. From this knockout system is played through to final at.

Awards
At the end of each Futsal World Cup several awards will be awarded to the best players and fairest team. Currently there are four different awards:
- The Adidas Golden Ball for best player
- The Adidas Golden Shoe for top scorer
- The Adidas Golden Glove for the Best Goalkeeper
- The FIFA Fair Play Award for the fairest team
