FK Viktoria Žižkov

FK Viktoria Zizkov The is a Czech football club from Prague's Zizkov district. The association founded in 1903 by students was before the Second World War behind city rivals Sparta Prague and Slavia Prague one of the most popular and most successful football clubs.

Club history

1903, a sports club called Victoria was founded in Prague's Zizkov by students from the Real -Gymnasium. The club led in 1925 to the professionalism and was a member of the Asociačni league. The return to the Gambrinus League was achieved in the 2006/07 season, in the 2008 /09 season the team got down to the 2nd league. The renewed rise in the first division succeeded in the 2010/11 season, when the club reached the second place behind Dukla Prague from the same district. Thus play 2011/12 five teams from the capital in the Gambrinus Liga.

Club name

The club was founded in 1903 as the Viktoria Zizkov Sportovni kroužek. From 1904 he called himself SK Viktoria Zizkov. 1950 was followed by a name change to Viktoria Zizkov Sokol, 1951 in Sokol ČSAD Zizkov. 1952 merged the club with Avia Čakovice, the same year a successor club name TJ Slavoj Zizkov was founded, which was called from 1965 Viktoria Zizkov TJ. From 1973 to 1982, the club Viktoria Zizkov TJ Strojimport meant 1982-1992 TJ Viktoria Zizkov PSO. Since that is the official name of FK Viktoria Zizkov.

Venues
