Frank Bello
Frank Bello ( born July 9, 1965 in New York) is an American bassist. He is a member of the thrash metal band Anthrax since 1984.
Biography
Frank Bello grew up as the eldest son of Charlie Benantes sister Rose and Italian-Americans in Rockland County. At the age of twelve he began playing guitar. When he was fourteen, he moved to his uncle Charlie Benante and his mother to Bronx, New York City to go to college there. In addition, he worked as a newspaper boy. Frank was an excellent student and played trombone in the school band. In his spare time he was jamming on the guitar with his only one and a half years older than Uncle Charlie Benante on drums. They shared their admiration for the hard rock band Kiss. During one of these jam sessions criticized Benante Bellos guitar playing since he play bass lines on his electric guitar. For this reason, Bello moved from guitar to bass. His influence donors were Steve Harris, Geddy Lee and Geezer Butler.
In July 1981, Frank Bello guitar roadie the newly formed anthrax, bassist Dan Lilker in 1984 he replaced, who had to leave the band due to drug problems. Other projects
1996 Bello was with Scott Ian on the sampler Spacewalk - A Salute to listen to Ace Frehley. 2001 Bello played with other members of Anthrax on the soundtrack of the John Carpenter film Ghosts of Mars. In 2005, he took with Paul Di'Anno, Alex Skolnick, Chris Traynor ( ex- Helmet ) and John Tempesta the piece Wrathchild for the Iron Maiden tribute album Numbers from the Beast on. He also made guest appearances in movies and television shows such as Married with Children and Law & Order. 2014 Bello will release together with Dave Ellefson and drummer Jeff Friedl ( The Beta Machine) an album called Booze & Cigarettes. The project is called Altitudes & Attitude. On January 14, an eponymous EP had already been published.
