Franka Dietzsch ( born January 22, 1968 in Wolgast ) is a German former discus thrower, who was world champion three times. She ended her career in 2009.

Life

Franka Dietzsch grew up in Koserow on Usedom, where she trained until 1981 at the local Army Community. She then attended the children 's and youth sports school in Rostock and launched until 1990 for the SC Empor Rostock.

Her first international success was the second place at the Junior World Championships 1986 in Athens in the discus. There they had to in the jersey of the GDR only her teammate Ilka Wyludda beaten.
