Fredrik "Freddy" Eriksson ( born July 18, 1983 in Örebro ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract. His cousin Daniel Berglund Christian Berglund and Carl Berglund are also professional hockey players.

Career

Fredrik Eriksson began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the Färjestad BK, for the first team, he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2000 /01 season. In his rookie year, the defender came in a total of 13 games for use and has been with his team runner-up. He then spent two seasons with Bofors IK from the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan before he stood from 2003 to 2006 again as a regular player for Färjestad BK in the Elitserien on the ice, where he was first in the 2005/06 season in his career, Swedish Champion. In parallel, he continued to play for the Bofors IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

For the 2006/07 season Eriksson signed with league rival Färjestads Malmö Redhawks, with whom he descent into HockeyAllsvenskan end of the season. After three years in the Swedish second division, he was obliged to season 2010/ 11 of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. For the following season the defender returned to Sweden and signed a contract with the Frölunda HC. In 2013 he received a two-year contract at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. In March 2014 he was elected by the managers and coaches of all 14 DEL clubs as well as experts because of its record of 12 goals and 34 assists for DEL - Defender of the Year.

Internationally

For Sweden, Eriksson took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2001, as well as the U20 Junior World Championship 2003 part.
