Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003

The German preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest (ESC ) 2003 in Riga took place in the Kiel Baltic Hall on 7 March 2003. The event was seen in the First live. Axel Bulthaupt moderated.

Participants

In collaboration with the great German record companies fifteen tracks have been selected for the preliminary decision. Joachim Germany was disqualified in advance due to offensive remarks he made to the family of the former Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber.

For the first time media sponsorships were awarded: The Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday newspaper supported the boy with the guitar, the picture Gerd Show, the taz Senait, the teen magazine Yam freestyle and the Turkish tabloid Hürriyet daydreamer feat. Tuning mode

The viewers were able to vote by telephone and SMS. Like last year, there were two rounds of voting. The three top rated title of the first passage were in a second run for election. The winner represented Germany in the ESC final.

Result

As in previous years, the ARD announced only the result of the second round of voting. Lou won with her title Let's Get Happy and received 38.0 percent of the vote. Beatbetrieb ( How do you ) were 31.6 percent Second, The Gerd Show ( Everything is good) third with 30.4 percent.
