Gordon Hayward
Gordon Daniel Hayward ( born March 23, 1990 in Indianapolis, Indiana ) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Utah Jazz in the National Basketball Association since 2010.
College
Hayward decided after high school for the basketball team at Butler University. He believes in his first year and was able to award the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year win. In his sophomore year at Butler College Hayward knew to convince. He became the star player and led his University against all expectations to the NCAA finals, where they were beaten almost at Duke University with 61-59. The NCAA drew from Haywards services with the Horizon League Player of the Year and the NCAA Tournament West Regional MVP.
NBA
Gordon Hayward was selected in the NBA Draft 2010 ninth of the Utah Jazz. The right to pod judge at this position, the Jazz acquired in 2004 by the New York Knicks via Phoenix Suns. Hayward was thus the first Butler Alumni in the NBA since Ralph O'Brien, who was active in 1952-53. At the start of his rookie season had Hayward problems to play in the rotation of jazz. This changed in the middle of the season after head coach Jerry Sloan gave the Office and the Utah Jazz their star Deron Williams to the New Jersey Nets transferred. Under the new head coach Tyrone Corbin to Hayward played towards the end of the season in the starting lineup. On the final day of the 2010-11 season with 34 points he succeeded in the 107-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets a career record.
In his second year at the Jazz to Hayward established as a starter. He also took along with teammate Derrick Favors at BBVA Rising Stars Challenge for the team of Charles Barkley in part.
After the lead player Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap left the Jazz in the summer of 2013, Hayward took over the role as a first attack option of jazz. On January 7, 2014 posted Hayward, at 112-101 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder with 37 points a new career record. He hit 13 of his 16 field thereby throws, took additional 11 rebounds and distributed 7 templates.
