Gordon McKellen

Gordon Riley " Gordie " McKellen Jr. ( born August 26, 1953 in Reading, Pennsylvania) is an American former figure skater, who started in a single run.

The way to figure skaters McKellen was prepared early on by his father, Gordon " Bud " McKellen, of the famous figure skating duo " McKellen Brothers" belonged in the forties. Gordon was 1973-1975 American champion. He took from 1971 to 1975 in all world championships. In his first World Cup he finished ninth and improved every year by one place, so he latched on with fifth place his best finish in his last World Cup in 1975. In his only Olympic Games in Sapporo in 1972 he was tenth.

McKellen was one of the first who jumped a triple axel, but not in competition, but only in the show running.

He married the American figure skater Kath Malmberg. After retirement from competitive sports McKellen toured with Toller Cranston's The Ice Show.
