The Costa neoRiviera is a cruise ship of Costa Crociere.

History

The ship was ordered from the French shipyard Chantiers de l' Atlantique in 1996. The keel laying of the built under the hull number J31 ship took place on 28 January 1997. Delivered it was on 23 June 1999. It came as Mistral for Festival Cruises in driving.

Due to non-payment of bills, the ship was arrested in January 2004 in Marseille. On 1 September 2004 it was initially sold to Auro Shipping and on 31 May 2005 at Mistral Shipping in Majuro in the Marshall Islands, renovated and renamed Grand Mistral. In September 2007 the ship at Societa di Crociere Jupiter was sold in Italy. It was rebuilt and equipped it with additional cabins and suites. The ship was then Ibero Cruceros for moving. Following the acquisition of Ibero Cruceros by the Carnival Corporation, the three ships of the company were distributed among other belonging to Carnival Corporation cruise lines. The Grand Mistral was used by Ibero Cruceros by October 2013 in Europe, then rebuilt and renamed. Since the end of November 2013, the ship under the name Costa neoRiviera of Costa Crociere Italian flag is used in the Middle East.

Technical data and equipment

The propulsion of the ship is diesel electric. The electricity for the propulsion engines and on-board operation is via four twelve-cylinder diesel engine manufacturer Wärtsilä. The engines come with a power output of 7,920 kW, offering a total of 31,680 kW Verfügung.Als propulsion engines are two electric motors, each with 9000 kW installed. The electric motors act on two fixed-pitch propellers. The ship then reaches a maximum speed of 21.5 knots.

The ship is equipped with stabilizers of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

The ship has a total of twelve decks, eight of which are accessible to passengers. As Mistral it offered 1,196 passengers in 598 twin or double cabin space, including 80 suites with private balconies. The crew size was given as 473 people. From Ibero Cruceros the ship as Grand Mistral was marketed with 516 cabins, of which 229 are inside and 287 outside cabins and 102 suites, the latter with a private balcony. Costa Crociere, the ship offers 530 rooms and 94 suites with private balconies. The passenger capacity is specified with a maximum of 1,727 people.
