The Costa Luminosa is a cruise ship of Costa Crociere.
The Baptism of the luxury liner was held on June 5, 2009 in Genoa, together with the Costa Pacifica instead. The godmother of the Costa Luminosa was the four-time Olympic fencing champion Valentina Vezzali. The baptism was also broadcast live on the Internet. Previously, the two ships made headlines once already because they were left as world's first ships at the same time to water.

In each season, the Costa Luminosa following areas and base ports had:
- Winter 2009 /10: 7- day voyages from Dubai in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman
- Summer 2010: from Amsterdam to Norway, Greenland, Iceland and the Baltic
- Autumn 2010: from Savona to the Canary Islands and the western Mediterranean
- Winter 2010 /11: 7- day voyages from Dubai in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, a trip to India and the Maldives
- Summer 2011: 7- day voyages from Copenhagen to Norway and in the Baltic Sea
- Autumn 2011: from Savona to the western Mediterranean
- Winter 2011/ 12 and 2012/13: 7- day voyages from Pointe -à- Pitre in the Caribbean
- Summer 2012 & 2013: 7- day cruises from Copenhagen to Norway and in the Baltic Sea
- Autumn 2012/2013: Short cruises from Savona to the Mediterranean
- Winter 2013/2014: cruises from Miami to the Western Caribbean
The ship
Equipment
The Costa Luminosa has on board a wellness center, called Samsara Spa, with a size of 3500 m². The ship has two swimming pools, one with a retractable roof and four hot tubs. A theater in the bow area extends over three decks. In addition, the Costa Luminosa is the first Costa ship an 18- hole golf simulator.
In the central hall, the above deck 2 extends over all the decks and attached to the three glass elevators, 910 -pound bronze statue "Donna sdraiata 2004" has been prepared by Fernando Botero, and documents its emergence in a nine -part photo series in the stairwell.
Style
The ship is influenced by light. So the names of the decks are only Italian words for colors. Furthermore, there are on the ship 120 teardrop-shaped Murano glass chandeliers and over 3,100 meters of LED lights.
