Guðbjörg Gunnarsdóttir
Guðbjörg Gunnarsdóttir (born 18 May 1985 in Hafnarfjörður ) is an Icelandic footballer.
Career
In the club
Guðbjörg started her career in the youth of the Haukar Hafnarfjörður. They went through all the teams in Haukar to the C- youth before the age of 14 years, the C- youth of the city rivals FH Hafnarfjörður joined. She made her debut at the age of 15 years, for FH Hafnarfjörður kvenna in 2000 in the Pepsideild, the highest Icelandic Women's League. Guðbjörg played in the senior team of Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjardar in two seasons 28 games before they moved on to league rivals Knattspyrnufélagid Valur. With Valur it was 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Icelandic champion and won the 2006 nor the Icelandic Cup competition. For the 2009 season changed Guðbjörg the Swedish first division club Djurgården Damfotboll where it was in 2012 appointed to Mannschaftsapitänin.
After four seasons and 39 games for Djurgårdens IF DFF, she moved to Norway in the Toppserien newly promoted Avaldsnes IL. The goalkeeper played 21 games for their Norwegian club before she signed with the German Women's Bundesliga 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam on 12 December 2013.
Internationally
Her debut in the Icelandic national Guðbjörg celebrated on 13 March 2004 against Scotland. Previously, she completed 21 internationals. She has since been to the constant power carriers of the Icelandic national team. Followed in 2009, their first in the tournament with Iceland and played in the Football Championship of Women 2009 in a group game before doe team was eliminated. She took in the summer of 2013 for the second time a tournament. She represented at the European Football Championship Women, 2013, the injured tribe goalkeeper Þóra Björg Helgadóttir. Guðbjörg played in all four games of the Icelandic national team in the tournament, including the 0-4 quarter-final defeat against the Swedish national football team of women. The Swedish press she chose for one of the best players at Euro 2013.
