Guo Yan

Guo Yan (Chinese郭 焱, Pinyin Guo Yan; * June 24, 1982 in Beijing, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese table tennis player. She took several titles in Asian and World Championships in 2012 and qualified for participation in the Olympic Games.

Career

Since 2003, Guo Yan was nominated ( to 2012) for nine world championships. With the women's team brought them here in 2006, 2008 and 2012 Gold and Silver in 2010. In 2005, she lost the final of the Individual Contest her compatriot Zhang Yining, 2009 and 2011, she was in a double with Ding Ning Second.

A total of eight titles she won at the Asian Championships, of which four in 2012, namely in single, double with Ding Ning, Xu Xin and in mixed with the Chinese women's team. With the women's team had won in 2003 and 2007, in a double it was still successful in 2003 with Li Nan Liu Shiwen and 2005. Also at the Asian Cup in 2005 and 2011, she was first in singles. The World Cup they won in 2006 and 2011 in singles and in 2021 with the team.

In the ITTF Pro Tour tournaments she won in the Grand Finals in 2008 and 2009 in singles.

In 2012 she qualified because of their world ranking position for the Olympic Games, but their participation was refused by the Chinese Table Tennis Association and instead Ding Ning nominated. Then she finished her international career in 2013.
