Haplogroup S-M230

Haplogroup S is a haplogroup in human genetics of the Y chromosome. Haplogroups consist of different haplotypes, that is, variants of a nucleotide sequence in the genome of a living being.

Dissemination

Haplogroup S was detected in the population in the highlands of New Guinea. It is also found in low density in the adjacent parts of Indonesia and Melanesia.
