Harald Ehrig

Harald Ehrig ( born November 6, 1949 in Zwickau ) is a former German luger who competed for the German Democratic Republic or the SC tractor Oberwiesenthal.

His career lasted from 1968 to 1975 at this time., He became European champion and runner-up ( behind Wolfgang Scheidel ) at the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo. He also took numerous podium finishes at World and European Championships, before he had to end his career because of knee problems. He is currently working at the youth center COM, ma in Langen (Hessen ) professional companion way for young people with challenging future prospects in the cities of Long and Dreieich.

For winning the silver medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 Ehrig was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit.
