Hawke's Bay Rugby Union

The Hawke 's Bay Rugby Union ( HBRU ) is the national rugby union Provincial Association of the Hawke 's Bay region on the North Island of New Zealand. The selection team of the Association in the national championship ITM Cup wears their home games at McLean Park in the city of Napier.

Hawke 's Bay has twice been in the possession of the Ranfurly Shield, 1922-1927 ( 24 times defended ) and 1966-1969 ( 21 times defended ). The HBRU merged in 1997 with the Manawatu Rugby Union. The new association Central Vikings Rugby Union was only a year and broke up again.

Players from Hawke 's Bay are entitled to play in the International League Super Rugby and are summoned by the Hurricanes.
