Hiermont

Hiermont ( Picard: Hièrmont ) is a commune with 141 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district of the canton of Abbeville and Crecy -en -Ponthieu and is part of the Communauté de communes du Bernavillois.

Geography

The community on the border of the regions Picardy and Nord-Pas -de- Calais is located about 6 km southwest of Auxi -le- Château and 11.5 km north east of Saint- Riquier and 16.5 km east of Crécy -en- Ponthieu in department of road D945 (formerly Route nationale 45).

History

In the municipality prehistoric traces were found. The old fortified place was formerly called Mont -Sacré. He was devastated in 1636 by Spanish troops; the castle was destroyed.
