Hinrich Romeike

Hinrich Romeike ( born May 26, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German eventing rider.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 was Hinrich Romeike Olympic champion in singles and won together with Ingrid Klimke, Andreas Dibowski, Peter Thomsen and Frank Ostholt the gold medal in the team competition. Previously, his biggest successes of the team victory at the World Equestrian Games 2006 in Aachen as well as the 5th place in the Individual and the 4th place in the team competition at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The above successes he achieved with his horse Marius, one born in 1994 Holsteiner gelding (from Condrieu xx). After Marius in the years 2009 to 2011 are not able to participate in the tournament due to injury in sports again, Romeike the end of Marius ' sporting career announced in March 2012. At a starting Romeikes at the 2012 Olympic Games therefore did not come.

Hinrich Romeike is a practicing dentist and lives with his wife and three children in Nübbel near Rendsburg. He was awarded the Sports badge of Schleswig- Holstein in 2005.
